As 2024 draws to a close, it’s the perfect time to reflect on what has been an incredible year for TechyTots. From attending events to welcoming new franchisees, launching exciting new services, and achieving both professional and personal milestones, 2024 has truly been a year to remember.

March: Connecting with Industry Leaders

In March, we attended the ICAP (Institute for Children’s Activity Providers) Conference. This was a fantastic opportunity to connect with industry peers, learn from experts, and explore innovative ways to enhance our offerings. It set the tone for the rest of the year, inspiring us to reach new heights.

May: Award Wins and New Beginnings

May was a monumental month for TechyTots. We attended the ClubHub Awards and were thrilled to win the prestigious Best Franchise Award! This recognition highlighted the hard work and passion of our entire network. We also welcomed two new franchisees into the TechyTots family. They were the first to complete their training using our new bespoke online training portal, which launched that same month. This innovative platform marks a big step forward in ho

June: Celebrating Innovation

In June, we were honoured to be finalists in the Disruptive Franchise Awards, competing in categories for Inventive Franchise of the Year and Disruptive Franchisor of the Year. These nominations recognised our commitment to innovation and pushing boundaries within the industry.

July: TechyParties Launch

July saw the launch of our exciting new TechyParties! These robot-themed birthday parties offer a unique and memorable experience for children. Our first-ever party was a huge success, paving the way for many more celebrations to come.

September: Franchise Conference Success

In September, we hosted our annual franchise conference, bringing together our amazing franchisees for a day of learning, collaboration, and inspiration. Highlights included in-person training from local SEN charity Playwise, as well as sessions led by our fantastic sponsors, Book That In and Elevate Accountancy, who shared valuable insights on growing and managing franchise businesses. The day was a resounding success and reinforced the strength of our TechyTots community.

October: Taking on a Leadership Role

October brought an exciting personal milestone as I attended the CAA Conference and took on the role of Committee Director of the Communities Committee. This new position allows me to advocate for community-focused initiatives and further support the children’s activity sector.

November: More Awards Recognition

In November, we attended the What’s On 4 Kids Awards, where we were proud finalists in the category of Best Children’s Activity: Academic or Creative. This recognition celebrated the impact of our coding and STEAM-focused activities on children across the UK.

All Year: Delivering Joy Across the Network

Throughout 2024, our network has been buzzing with activity:

• Running over 30 after-school clubs every week.
• Hosting weekend sessions and school holiday programmes.
• Delivering the HAF scheme in Sutton and Cheam and Leeds.
• Organising seasonal events, including Halloween parties and birthday parties.

Every session has been a reminder of why we do what we do: to inspire, educate, and bring joy to children through coding and play.

Personal Highlights

On a personal note, 2024 has been a year of cherished memories and growth. We celebrated some big milestones, including my youngest turning 21! I also enjoyed a wonderful holiday and had my back garden beautifully landscaped, creating a peaceful retreat to balance work and life. Most importantly, I’ve been focusing on practising what I preach about achieving a healthy work-life balance. It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s been so rewarding.

Looking Ahead to 2025

As we look back on this amazing year, I’m filled with gratitude for the incredible people who make TechyTots what it is: our dedicated franchisees, our supportive partners, and the families and schools we work with every day. I’m excited to see what 2025 has in store as we continue to grow, innovate, and bring the joy of coding to even more children.
